Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Guardian of Faith, sheltering the children of the world (and their pets) from the coming storms.
In the American Southwest, at least, it's called Walking Rain: the play of sunlight and clouds and rainfall from distant thunderstorms as they move across the landscape.
